Mobile Phones At Ysgol Harri Tudur
Mobile phones disrupt learning. The school operates an out of sight out of mind approach to mobile phones. Pupils/students must turn off their phones and leave them in their bags.
Alternatively, they can give it to the class teacher, switched off, for safe keeping until the end of the lesson. They must not use their phones inside the school building at any time. Pupils/students will be reminded of this at meet and greet. If they take their phone out during a lesson, or if their phone rings during the lesson, the teacher will confiscate it and will give it to reception where it may be collected by their parent/carer or guardian at the end of the school day.
Pupils/students bring their phones to school at their own risk. The school accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage or theft of any device. The use of smart watches by pupils/students is prohibited during the school day. The approach has been adopted in view of the increasing misuse of cameras and escalating risk of theft. If seen they will be confiscated by the member of staff and given to reception for collection by the parent/carer or guardian at the end of the school day.
