National Reading and Numeracy Tests

Pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 will sit the National Reading and Numeracy Tests in the first week after our Easter holidays.

Year 7, 8 and 9 National Numeracy and Reading Assessments

During the week commencing Monday 21st June 2021, all pupils in year 7, 8 and 9 will be completing the annual National Numeracy and Reading assessments, set by the Welsh Assembly Government.

During this week all pupils will complete a Numeracy Procedural and a Literacy Reading assessment, using Hwb. All pupils will be provided with their usernames and passwords in school to access the assessments.

Regarding preparation for these assessments, it would be extremely beneficial to be practising number skills such as times tables etc along with continuing to encourage your child to read independently. Just reading for 15 minutes a day will make a huge difference to your child's progress in all subjects.

Due to the pandemic this academic year pupils are not required to complete the Numeracy Reasoning assessment.
