Please find below an email which was sent to all Year 11 learners yesterday afternoon regarding the exciting Year 11 into Sixth Form Induction fortnight coming up in a few weeks time. This event invites and welcomes back into school all students who have applied to return to the Sixth Form (even if they are currently a little uncertain) in order to introduce them this half-term to the subjects they have applied to study in September. The emphasis is on relaxed learning and will include a mix of classroom subject introductions and practical work including off-site visits and experiences. It is hoped the event will enthuse and inspire students following what has unquestionably been a challenging year.
We really hope all students who have already applied can attend the induction and we are still considering applications from those students who may not have initially applied.
Please discuss this with your son / daughter. It is an excellent and fully funded stepping-stone to a successful start to post-16 education and we anticipate all applicants attending. You are very welcome to contact me via email or by calling the telephone numbers in my email footer if you require any further information.
Prynhawn da pawb,
This email is being sent to all Sixth Form applicants, but also all those who did not apply as we are still receiving requests for late applications.
The school is very happy to present the Sixth Form Induction fortnight for Year 11 students which is taking place later this month. The event is fully explained on the attached document, but essentially is an opportunity for students (as you are no longer pupils!) to come into school and trial the options they have selected for September. I appreciate that some of you may be uncertain over the Sixth Form and may have it as a College back-up, but I would still urge you to attend as it will prove a really informative event and help you understand the genuine benefits of the Sixth Form.
The fortnight's activities are explained in the attached timetable, but include both practical experiences and classroom introductions to subjects.
A Google survey will be sent to you all via Google Classroom on Monday to let me know whether you will be attending. I really urge students to attend as the emphasis is on enjoyment of the subject rather than bombarding you with facts and figures. All resources, the Friday boat trip and all meals are provided free of charge.
I really look forward to meeting up with you again, refreshed and really for the unquestionable and enviable successes that being part of our Sixth Form can bring.
Further information on Monday.
